
Nigeria’s leading telecommunications company, MTN, has announced the reversal of its recent 200% tariff increase on the 15GB data plan.
The company made this known in a statement posted on its official X account on Thursday.
The decision comes just days after MTN implemented the price hike on Tuesday, affecting the 15GB data bundle alongside other data plans.
The sudden increase sparked widespread backlash from customers, prompting the company to reconsider its stance.
In addition to rolling back the tariff hike, MTN has issued an apology to Nigerians for the inconvenience caused. The telecom giant assured users of its commitment to delivering affordable and reliable services while addressing concerns over pricing adjustments.
“To our 15G digital bundle lovers, you dey vex. We know.
“We know how upsetting it must have been to suddenly wake up to a 200 percent increase on your favourite digital bundle.
“We could share several reasons and provide explanations, but omo, all that one na story. We don cast.
“We get it and admit it. Let’s just say na mistake.
