The House of Representatives has directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to enforce the immediate shutdown of pornographic websites across the country.
This directive was issued during Tuesday’s plenary, with the lawmakers urging internet service providers to block access to such websites under the new mandate.
The decision aims to address concerns over the impact of explicit content on society, especially among the youth.
Katsina Rep. Dalhatu Tafoki sponsored the motion, calling it a step to “protect societal values.”
