The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has declared Sunday as Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the 2025 Ramadan fast.
The announcement was made by the council’s President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, during a live broadcast on Saturday night.
He confirmed that the sighting of the new moon signified the beginning of Shawwal, officially bringing Ramadan to a close.
