Residents of Gaa Akanbi in the Ilorin South Local Government Area are in a state of mourning and fear following the tragic deaths of two individuals, including a pregnant woman, due to a snake attack.
According to an eyewitness, the serpent claimed the life of a woman last Friday at a residence situated behind the Royal Shekina Hotel in the Gaa Akanbi area, while a pregnant woman was also reportedly fatally struck by the snake just yesterday within the same compound.
Sobi FM Correspondent Toyin Saheed reported that a resident, Ibrahim Osen Kehinde, who corroborated the harrowing incident, revealed that the pregnant woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Kehinde further explained that the previous tenants residing in the same flat had vacated the premises upon discovering that snakes were emerging from the soakaway.
