I was not surprised when Mr. Bidemi Olawuyi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Olomu Sports Festival, mentioned Engr. Sunday Babalola as one of the major financiers of the festival. What truly surprised me, however, was that I had never envisaged the engineer and pastor as a sports enthusiast.
His humility has never allowed him to openly speak about his contributions, and this further convinced me that there is still much more to unravel about this great philanthropist. We have all witnessed his immense contributions to education and banking, and now to sports. Those who know him more closely attest that his impact on society goes far beyond what many of us are yet to discover.
From what I have personally seen, it is clear that Engr. Sunday Babalola understands purpose and direction, and he knows exactly what he wants for societal development. I would, however, like to respectfully suggest that he encourage the organizers of such sporting events to always invite talent scouts, as the Olomu Sports Festival was truly a worthwhile investment and a platform rich with potential.
