The Kwara State Coding & Digital Literacy Programme has made significant strides in its fourth week, with participants showing a deeper understanding and practical application of digital skills.
The program’s progress was underscored by an unscheduled visit from Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, demonstrating the administration’s strong commitment to the initiative.
In the past week, students demonstrated growing confidence in problem-solving and digital creativity. They mastered key concepts in Python, web development, and Innovation Thinking, including data structures, logic statements, and interactive design. The hands-on sessions have been particularly effective, allowing learners to apply classroom knowledge to real-life challenges. Despite the ongoing holiday season, attendance across all centers has remained consistently high.

The program received a major boost with Governor AbdulRazaq’s surprise visit to the United Community Junior Secondary School in Ilorin. The governor personally interacted with students and instructors, asking questions about the curriculum and course content. His direct engagement symbolizes the government’s deep-seated commitment to developing human capital through technology.
In addition to the governor’s visit, the Office of the Special Assistant on Digital Innovations, led by Hon. Ishola Kayode, has been conducting regular oversight visits to schools across Kwara Central. These include both announced and unannounced inspections, as well as virtual check-ins.
This rigorous monitoring process ensures instructional quality, guarantees accountability, and reinforces the government’s consistent commitment to the program’s objectives. The initiative is a cornerstone of Governor AbdulRazaq’s vision to equip Kwara’s youth with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
