
Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano has warned that the issue of insecurity not be politicized in Nigeria as the state converged to pray and recite the Quran against the recent encroachment of armed bandits.
The Governor warned that insecurity does not know politics or party affiliations, saying that is the reason why everyone, regardless of their leanings, should join the fight against the monster of banditry.
The prayer session and Quran recitations which saw 4,444 memorizers of the Holy Book converge at the government House, also had the 16th Fulani Emir Muhammadu ii and other top dignitaries in attendance.
Governor Yusuf warned that insecurity and other criminalities must not have political colorations, noting that every political affiliation should have at its back fighting insecurity and the insurance of having his domains peaceful.
He said, “we want to see everybody joining hands together to fight the monster and free Kano.”.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, explained that his government has provided security agencies enough working tools that will make them safeguard Kano, adding that he is always in touch with them to know their problems and needs for immediate settlement.
He further appealed to the Kano People to remains calm as the government in collaboration with the security agencies are working tirelessly to ensure that Kano and it’s environ is been protected.
He noted that the prayers sessions is beyond financial commitment but a venture that every sensible persons will love to participate, he therefore assured that his Government will work in tandem with the stakeholders to make the city great.
The 16th Fulani Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi ii, said while commenting during the prayers that the government has taken a bold step in tackling the menace.
“I have seen while in Faruruwa Community in Shanono Local Government that the government is building road networks in the rural areas, this would smoothly enable security to respond to destress calls”.
The Emir, urged Governor Yusuf to sustain the tempo by ensuring that Local Governments have the desired Roads Projects that will allowed linkages with the state and make them move freely while Security will have eases in getting to every part that is in need.
He said the Emirate Council fully supports the Government and will continue to give them every supports to not only succeed but return Kano as the of peace, harmony and Commercial activities.
Many Reciters and Ullamas prayed during the events which attracted participants from across the state 44 local governments.
