Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, has received Ambassador-Designate Reno Omokri at his residence, where he congratulated him on his recent appointment and offered guidance as he prepares to assume his diplomatic duties on behalf of Nigeria.
In a statement issued after the visit, Kalu said the meeting was an opportunity to encourage Omokri as he gets ready to represent the country and its people in the international arena.
“I welcomed Ambassador-Designate Reno Omokri to my residence today, where I congratulated him on his appointment and offered guidance as he prepares to represent Nigeria and its people in his forthcoming diplomatic role,” the senator said.
Kalu emphasised the need for dedication, integrity, and a strong sense of patriotism in carrying out Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives, noting that ambassadors play a critical role in shaping the nation’s image abroad.
He expressed confidence that Omokri would discharge his responsibilities with excellence and wished him a successful tenure, adding that Nigeria’s diplomatic missions must continue to advance peace, cooperation, and national development.
The visit highlights ongoing engagement between senior political leaders and newly appointed envoys as Nigeria strengthens its diplomatic outreach and international relations.
