Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of veteran politician and respected statesman, Barr. Kunle Suleiman, describing his death as a profound loss to Kwara State and Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Engr. Adeyemi said the late Barrister was not only an accomplished legal practitioner and politician but also a political institution whose wisdom, experience, and commitment helped shape the evolution of politics in Kwara State. He was among the very first renowned politicians that welcomed us to the progressive family in Kwara. We will always be grateful for his fatherly guidance and advice.
According to Engr. Adeyemi, Barr. Suleiman was widely admired for his calm disposition, political maturity, and ability to bridge divides across different political tendencies, making him a respected voice among leaders and followers alike.
He noted that the late elder statesman dedicated decades of his life to public service, mentorship, and the strengthening of democratic values in the state, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, courage, and unwavering commitment to the progress of Kwara.
“Barr. Kunle Suleiman was a rare breed of leader — principled, wise, and deeply devoted to the peace and development of our state. His counsel, political foresight, and fatherly guidance will be greatly missed by many of us who looked up to him,” Engr. Adeyemi said.
Engr. Adeyemi also commiserated with the family of the deceased, political associates, and the entire people of Kwara State over the painful loss, praying that Almighty Allah grants the late statesman eternal rest.
He prayed that Allah admits Barr. Suleiman into Al-Jannah Firdaus and grants his family, friends, and associates the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
