Ilorin South APC Caucus Endorses Tinubu, Bolarinwa for Presidency, Kwara Governorship

The 2027 political momentum in Kwara State gained further traction on Monday as the Ilorin South Progressive Caucus convened a strategic stakeholders’ meeting to formally endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term and Hon. Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB) for the state’s governorship seat.

The engagement, held at the Excellence Hall, Pipeline, Ilorin, was attended by a significant number of party faithful, community leaders, and youth leaders from across the 11 wards of Ilorin South Local Government Area, including Balogun Fulani I, II, III, and Oke-Ogun wards.

In his opening remarks, the Convener of the event, Hon. Barr. Oladimeji Mustapha described the gathering as a moment of reflection, appreciation, and direction, emphasizing that the group’s stance is rooted in the values of loyalty, continuity, and purposeful leadership.

“Today is not just another political event; it is a moment where we come together as committed progressives to reaffirm our values and chart a clear course for the future,” Mustapha stated.

The gathering featured the moving of a formal motion for endorsement by Hon. Issa Alfulani, who described Bolarinwa as a unifier and a builder of people that has paid his political and strategic dues in the state.

“In acknowledgment of loyalty, sacrifice, and proven leadership capacity, I move that this gathering formally endorses Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB) as our preferred and consensus candidate for the Governorship of Kwara State in 2027,” Alfulani added.

The motion was unanimously adopted by the stakeholders and all party faithfuls present.

In a communique issued at the conclusion of the meeting, the caucus also reaffirmed its recognition of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaqas the leader of the party in the state.

The communiqué, signed by the leadership of the Ilorin South Progressive Caucus, highlighted several key resolutions as follows;

1. Presidential Endorsement: Full support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
2. Governorship Consensus: Adoption of Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB) as the preferred candidate for 2027.
3. Party Leadership: Continued recognition of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq as the state party leader.
4. Unity Call: An appeal to stakeholders across the 16 local governments to rally behind this decision for the sake of equity and fairness.
