A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Bashir Olayinka Amule, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was contained in a statement made available to 9japarrot on Wednesday.
As part of his move to actualise the ambition, Amule visited the PDP secretariat in Ilorin East Local Government Area, where he presented his letter of intent to party leaders and key stakeholders.
Addressing party members during the visit, the aspirant described his ambition as a service-driven mission focused on delivering purposeful and people-oriented representation to the constituency.
He noted that his aspiration is not a “do-or-die” affair, but one rooted in unity, inclusiveness, and the collective progress of the PDP.
Amule further reassured stakeholders of his commitment to strengthening internal cohesion within the party, stressing that his goal is to build bridges across all segments of the constituency rather than create divisions.
In a move seen as a reflection of his grassroots engagement, the aspirant also donated 12 NABTEB examination forms to beneficiaries across the 12 wards of Ilorin East Local Government Area, with a focus on supporting educational development among youths.
Party members and stakeholders who received him commended the gesture, describing his visit as timely and indicative of his readiness to connect with the grassroots and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the party.
