The gubernatorial ambition of Senator Sadiq Sulaiman Umar (3SU) received a significant spiritual boost on Friday as youths from Kwara Central organized a massive special prayer session at the New Eid Praying Ground, Irewelode, Ilorin.
The spiritual gathering, themed around seeking divine guidance for the 2027 elections, was led by the Imam Imale of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Abdulhameed and featured the recitation of the Al-Qunut (special supplication).
Addressing journalists during the event, the Chief Imam Imale underscored the power of spiritual intercession in leadership.
“The efficacy of prayer is enormous,” Dr. Abdulhameed said, noting that when someone sincerely present their request before God, He answers.
“Prayer is open to everyone, and we have presented these requests for the aspirant today.” He added.
The youth leader of the “Kwara Central for Senator Sadiq Umar 2027” group, Mallam Muhammad Umar Dasuki explained that the mobilization was rooted in the principles of equity and justice.
He argued that after the tenure of Kwara Central, it is only fair for the governorship to shift to Kwara North, positioning Senator Umar as the most qualified and preferred candidate from that zone.
“We are here to support him spiritually because there is nothing greater than prayer,” Dasuki said.
“Beyond that, our support is based on the need for power rotation across senatorial districts to ensure a sense of belonging for all Kwarans.” He added.
9japarrot reports that the choice of the Ilorin Eid Ground for the session was a symbolic move, demonstrating that Senator Sadiq Umar’s “Renewed Hope” message is resonating deeply within the traditional and youth base of Kwara Central.
The event saw an ecstatic turnout of participants who joined in the Qur’anic recitations, reinforcing the growing alliance between the youths of the Central and the aspirations of the North.
