As Nigeria joins the global community to commemorate the 2026 International Workers’ Day, a leading House of Representatives aspirant for the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, Hon. Olasumbo Florence Oyeyemi popularly known as YÈYÈLÚÀ has hailed the dedication and resilience of the Nigerian workforce.
In a special May Day message released on Friday through the YÈYÈLÚÀ Media Brainbox, the aspirant specifically lauded workers across her constituency, describing them as the “backbone” of the nation’s progress and the silent engines driving community development.
YÈYÈLÚÀ emphasized that the contributions of workers, whether in the public or private sectors, or the thriving informal economy, remain the most vital element in Kwara State’s growth. She noted that their commitment to excellence, despite various socio-economic challenges, serves as a testament to the strength of the Nigerian spirit.
“Your unwavering commitment to excellence, even when faced with challenges, showcases your strength and determination,” the statement read.
“YÈYÈLÚÀ acknowledges and values the sacrifices you make to keep our economy progressing.” It added.
Moving beyond celebration, the aspirant outlined her legislative vision for the workforce, pledging to champion policies that prioritize the dignity of labor if elected to the Green Chamber.
While acknowledging that there is still significant work to be done to improve living standards, Hon. Oyeyemi reaffirmed her commitment to empowering families and strengthening the economic fabric of Ekiti, Oke-Ero, Isin, and Irepodun.
“This Workers’ Day reminds us that we must remain committed to championing workers’ rights and supporting initiatives that empower individuals,” she stated.
“Together, we can create a brighter future where your efforts truly matter and your voices are heard.”
