Hundreds of Students, Youths Back Hon. Prince Jesufemi Oyeyemi Adeyemi’s Reps Bid

The quest for the Isin/Irepodun/Ekiti/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency seat gained significant youth momentum on Thursday as hundreds of students from various tertiary institutions across Kwara South converged on the Kwara State College of Education, Oro.

The students, numbering over 300, held a massive mobilization rally to declare their total support for the House of Representatives ambition of Hon. Prince Jesufemi Oyeyemi Adeyemi.

The programme, which was jointly organized by the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the College of Education and the Ekiti State University (EKSU) Oro campus, drew representatives from all four local government areas making up the federal constituency.

The mobilization effort was spearheaded by the SUG President of the Kwara State College of Education, Oro, Comrade Amos Olalere Ige, and his counterpart from the EKSU Oro campus, Comrade Quadri Babalola.

The student leaders noted that the gathering was a proactive step toward ensuring that the next representative of the constituency is an individual who is relatable, accessible, and deeply committed to the welfare of the younger generation.

“We are not just here to cheer; we are here because the future of our constituency depends on the quality of leadership we choose now,” Comrade Ige stated.

“Prince Adeyemi has shown a consistent commitment to student welfare and grassroots accessibility, and we believe it is time to amplify that at the national level.” He added.

During the interactive sessions, participants highlighted Adeyemi’s track record in youth development and community engagement. Many described him as a “servant-leader” whose style aligns with the aspirations of the contemporary Kwara youth.

The students emphasized that their endorsement was based on verifiable evidence of his humanitarian services and his readiness to bridge the gap between the electorate and the legislature.

The event, which was characterized by high spirits and solidarity songs, served as a formal launch for the students’ grassroots campaign for the aspirant.

Resolutions reached at the end of the meeting include constituency-Wide Sensitization where Students vowed to return to their respective wards in Isin, Irepodun, Ekiti, and Oke-Ero to mobilize their peers, Initiating drives to ensure students and young professionals are fully registered and ready for the 2027 polls, and commitment to maintaining a unified front in support of Adeyemi’s candidacy under the party’s banner.

9japarrot reports that as the political cycle intensifies in Kwara South, this strong show of force by the student community indicates that the youth vote will be a decisive factor in determining who represents the Isin/Irepodun/Ekiti/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber.
