Women drawn from the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State, under the aegis of the Kwara State Powerful Women Support Group, have declared their support for the governorship aspiration of Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON, describing his candidacy as reflective of inclusive leadership and people-centered development.
In a statement issued on behalf of the group by the State Women Coordinator, Mrs. Nifemi Isaiah, the women noted that their decision was driven by a collective desire for leadership that prioritizes impact, inclusiveness, sustainable progress, and a consistent humanitarian touch—not seasonal gestures. They emphasized that Prof. Sulaiman has consistently demonstrated a genuine commitment to the welfare and advancement of women across various segments of society, including market women, entrepreneurs, widows, professionals, and young girls.
According to the group, the Kwara North Coordinator, Mrs. Abubarkar Fatimah Binta, stated that Prof. Sulaiman’s approach to leadership is practical and results-oriented, with a strong focus on empowerment, capacity development, and economic inclusion. They noted that his engagement with communities across the state reflects a leadership style that is accessible, responsive, and grounded in the realities of the people.
The statement further highlighted the importance of women in driving development at the family and community levels, stressing that policies and leadership that support women ultimately translate into broader societal growth. They expressed confidence that Prof. Sulaiman’s vision aligns with these priorities and offers a pathway for inclusive development in Kwara State.
The group also commended his consistent advocacy for unity and inclusive politics, describing it as essential for sustaining peace and progress in a diverse state like Kwara. They noted that his ability to build bridges across different ethnic groups positions him as a unifying figure capable of leading the state into its next phase of development.
Mrs. Aminat Kehinde Nurudeen, the Kwara Central Coordinator, further reaffirmed their position, stating that their support goes beyond political alignment and reflects their belief in leadership defined by integrity, competence, and compassion. She added that Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, has laid the foundation for progress, and that the state must not return to the primitive politics of the past, emphasizing that competence should override ethnic sentiments.
The Kwara State Powerful Women Support Group concluded by reiterating its commitment to mobilizing support across all 16 LGAs in pursuit of Prof. Wale Sulaiman’s aspiration during the APC primaries and to deliver his mandate as registered party members in their respective LGAs.
