APC Youth Group Rejects Kwara Reps Primaries, Seeks Total Annulment from Tinubu

A frontline pressure group, the Concerned APC Youths Vanguard for Democracy has rejected the results of the House of Representatives shadow elections conducted across the state’s six federal constituencies on Saturday.

Addressing a world press conference in Ilorin, the coalition described the exercise held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, as a “sham, premeditated, and fundamentally fraudulent process” that completely violated the party’s guidelines and the Electoral Act.

Reading the text of the press conference, the group lamented that despite thousands of party faithful trooping out across the 193 wards of the state to participate in the approved direct primaries, no actual voting took place in over 90% of the state.

“Party members waited in their thousands for hours under difficult weather conditions expecting election officials, electoral materials, and voter registers that never arrived,” the group stated.

“No accreditation took place. No voting process took place. Yet, fabricated result sheets populated in dark corners suddenly surfaced and so-called winners were announced.” they added.

The group warned that the development was a painful betrayal of the historic Otoge revolution of 2019, which was founded on a collective rejection of political imposition, impunity, and electoral manipulation.

The youth vanguard expressed deep disappointment in the state party leadership led by Prince Sunday Fagbemi, accusing it of failing to guarantee a level playing field.

The group specifically raised concerns over the situation in the Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency, where an incumbent was allegedly imposed despite internal agitations over geopolitical balancing. They further noted that the promise of the party to encourage the inclusion of women, youth, and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) was discarded, as qualified young and female aspirants who cleared screening were completely sidelined.

Beyond the National Assembly primaries, the group called on national leaders to address what they termed an atmosphere of uncertainty regarding the 2027 governorship race.
They passionately appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON to provide urgent strategic direction by explicitly declaring where the APC gubernatorial ticket has been zoned.

“Other APC-controlled states have already shown commendable political maturity by providing early clarity concerning succession arrangements. Kwara State must not be left behind,” the group insisted, warning that continued silence would breed unhealthy rivalries capable of destabilizing the ruling party ahead of 2027.

To avert a total collapse and mitigate severe legal vulnerabilities that opposition parties could exploit in the general elections, the Concerned APC Youths Vanguard laid down the following conditions:

Immediate Annulment: A total cancelation of the House of Representatives primaries held on May 16, 2026, across all six federal constituencies.

Reconstitution of the Committee: The immediate deployment of a neutral and independent Primary Election Committee by the National Working Committee (NWC).

National Secretariat Takeover: An urgent intervention by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda to temporarily supervise Kwara APC political affairs due to the perceived compromise of the state executives.

Zoning Clarity: Immediate pronouncements on the 2027 gubernatorial succession plan to douse ongoing tension.

Sanctions for Sabotage: A thorough investigation and punishment of party officials and security operatives who aided the falsification of results.

In conclusion, the group praised the aspirants who have already filed formal petitions before the APC Election Appeal Committee, urging them to remain resolute in defending internal democracy.
