Kwara South APC Primaries: Muheebah Dankaka Claims Victory, Alleges 20,000 Vote Lead Over Contenders

The Dankaka Campaign Organization declared on Tuesday that its principal, Dr. Muheebah Adenike Dankaka, OON, has established an insurmountable lead of over 20,000 votes in the Kwara South APC primary election.

Following the voting exercise across the senatorial district which held on Monday, supporters of the former Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) converged in their thousands across the Ibolo, Igbomina, and Ekiti axis of the zone to celebrate what they described as a “landslide mandate.”

In an official statement released by her campaign structure, the camp maintained that the massive margin of victory recorded across the seven local government areas represents the authentic voice of ordinary party faithful who voted with conscience rather than coercion.

The campaign attributed the sweeping numbers to Dankaka’s long-standing track record of human capital development, youth empowerment, and community service across Kwara South, long before the legislative race commenced.

“Dr. Muheebah Dankaka distanced her closest contender by over twenty thousand votes,” the statement read.

“This is not a contest; this is a landslide mandate. It is proof that our people voted with conscience, not coercion. Dr. Dankaka did not buy this mandate; she earned it through competency, character, and consistency.” the statement added.

The campaign organization expressed absolute confidence in the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC to uphold democratic principles and validate the field results.

However, the camp issued a stern warning to rival aspirants who are allegedly trying to alter the outcome through high-level political maneuvering in the federal capital. The statement emphasized that the political destiny and legislative representation of Kwara South can no longer be dictated from external forces in Abuja.

The declaration by the Dankaka camp comes at a time when other frontline contenders including the incumbent Senator Oyelola Ashiru and Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun (ENACT) have also claimed commanding leads in various local government areas like Irepodun and Ifelodun.

9japarrot reports that with multiple camps asserting control over the field data, the attention of stakeholders across Kwara State now shifts completely to the APC state secretariat and national electoral officers for the reconciliation of figures and the final official declaration of the standard-bearer.

“Yesterday we voted with wisdom. Today we celebrate with unity. Tomorrow we will defend our mandate with courage,” the organization concluded.
