2027: Amofin Akogun Pledges 100 International Master’s Scholarships for Kwara South Graduates

Frontline Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives hopeful for the Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero/Ekiti Federal Constituency, Amofin Titilope Joseph Akogun has unveiled a major pillar of his legislative blueprint, promising to sponsor 100 local graduates on fully funded international Master’s degree scholarships if elected in 2027.

The Omu-Aran-born legal practitioner and founder of the BTA Foundation made the declaration on Saturday under his legislative policy drive tagged #TowardsALegacyOfHope.

Akogun stated that his primary legislative focus will center heavily on human capital engineering, noting that giving brilliant youths direct exposure to global academic environments remains the most sustainable tool to alter the socio-economic future of the constituent communities.

According to the National Assembly aspirant, the proposed educational initiative is structured to send a minimum of 25 exceptional graduates from the four local governments to reputable foreign institutions every year throughout his four-year legislative tenure.

The legal professional maintained that the initiative is an intentional commitment to investing in high-level capacity building, ensuring that local youths return with advanced specialized knowledge to drive structural transformation across the state.

“If I am privileged to serve as a Representative Member in 2027, I will prioritise international Master’s scholarship opportunities for our graduates abroad every year,” Amofin Akogun stated.

“My goal is simple: to give brilliant young people the opportunity to gain global knowledge, exposure, and experience that can transform not only their own lives, but also the future of our community.” He added.

He further stated that If within four years, he’s able to sponsor 100 graduates to study abroad, he will remain deeply grateful to God for the grace to make such an impact. This is more than a promise; it is a commitment to investing in people, He said.

9japarrot reports that Political observers in Kwara South note that Akogun’s latest policy statement aligns seamlessly with his long-standing humanitarian interventions in the education sector.
Through his BTA Foundation, the legal practitioner has consistently financed grassroots educational structures across the federal constituency, notably through his hallmark “Igi Iwe” (Education Tree) scheme, which recently distributed hundreds of free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) application forms alongside institutional scholarship grants to vulnerable students across the region.

With the PDP fine-tuning its internal structures ahead of the upcoming legislative primary windows, Akogun’s policy pitch targeting graduate manpower development has begun gaining significant traction among youth coalitions, student bodies, and community development associations across the Irepodun, Ekiti, Isin, and Oke-Ero axes.
