Former Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa is reportedly in line for a surprise move to Premier League side Fulham.
According to The Athletic, Fulham have opened talks with Arbeloa as they search for a new manager following the departure of Marco Silva.
Silva has left the London club to take over at Benfica, replacing José Mourinho, who is expected to return to Real Madrid, where he will succeed Arbeloa.
Arbeloa previously took charge of Real Madrid after Xabi Alonso—now Chelsea manager—was dismissed in January.
The 43-year-old enjoyed a playing career with Real Madrid, Liverpool, and West Ham United before moving into coaching.
