Women across the sixteen local government areas of Kwara State converged in their large numbers for a high-profile special prayer and thanksgiving session in Ilorin on Thursday.
The spiritual gathering was organized by the One Kwara Project 2027 Women Wing in honor of the All Progressives Congress governorship flagbearer and current Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi
The significant spiritual and political gathering, which was hosted by the Executive Chairman of Moro Local Government Area, Hon. Alhaja Chief Mrs. Mariam Abdulwasiu Omotayo, took place at the Kwara North House located along Peter Olorunshola Street, Fate Road, directly opposite the NTA Station in Ilorin.
The event served as a powerful grassroots demonstration of solidarity for the speaker’s executive ascension ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The high-power intercessory session was led by renowned Islamic scholars, including the Guest Speaker, Sheikh Al-Khalifa Umar Faruq Babatunde Sohibul Bayan, alongside Sheikh Soliu Kewugbemi, who commenced the spiritual layout with a solemn and moving recitation of the Holy Quran.
In his sermon, Sheikh Sohibul Bayan highly commended the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for its remarkable and visible landmarks in governance across the state over the last seven years.
He led the congregation in intense prayers for the governor’s continued success in office, the long-term stability and breakthrough of the APC in Kwara State, while specifically invoking divine favor, wisdom, and total victory for Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi in the forthcoming 2027 gubernatorial polls.
The thanksgiving event attracted top-tier female politicians, state lawmakers, and influential party stalwarts from across the three senatorial districts including Kwara State First Lady hopeful, Hajia Saadat Yakubu Danladi, who was warmly received by the jubilant crowd.
Also present to anchor the political base was the Kwara State APC Women Leader, Chief Hajia Falilat Ronke Mohammed, alongside prominent female lawmakers, including the Member representing Lanwa/Ejidongari Constituency, Hon. Abdulraheem Medinat Motunrayo, and the Member representing Ilorin South Constituency, Hon. Mariam Aladi.
The event further solidified internal party alliances as male counterparts and national assembly hopefuls arrived to exchange pleasantries and key into the movement. Notable among them was the Member representing Ojomu/Balogun Constituency, Hon. Seun Ogunniyi (ADATO), who was seen exchanging warm greetings with the host chairman, Alhaja Mariam Abdulwasiu Omotayo, shortly after his arrival. Also making a notable appearance at the venue was Hon. Chief Mrs. Adejoke Mistura Adeyemi, a frontline House of Representatives aspirant for the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, adding further strategic weight to the One Kwara Project 2027 Women Wing’s political mobilization matrix.
