Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has shared her views on money and relationships, stating that financial stability plays a key role in marital happiness.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, the film star said she does not believe a woman can live a “fantastic life” by marrying a financially struggling partner. She argued that economic pressure often robs couples of the joy of marriage and family life.
According to her, “Marriage is not a poverty alleviation scheme, but I don’t believe marrying a poor man can make you happy.” She added that when basic needs such as rent, school fees and food cannot be met, it becomes difficult for couples to enjoy a fulfilling life.
Isime clarified that her opinion does not dismiss the existence of love without money, stressing that love and a “fantastic life” are not the same thing.
She further advised intending couples to ensure they are financially stable to a reasonable extent before getting married and starting a family.
