Sowore Calls on Nigerians to Mobilise Against ‘Oppressive Regime’ After Court Remand

Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has urged Nigerians to rise against what he described as an “oppressive regime”.

In a statement posted on his verified X handle on Tuesday, the human rights activist called for sustained mobilisation, saying citizens must join what he termed a “revolutionary movement” to make their voices heard.

Sowore said it was time for Nigerians to “join the revolutionary train”, stressing the need to continue mobilising, educating the public, and working towards dismantling what he called the oppressive system. He added: “This is the time for Nigerians to join the revolutionary train and make their voices heard. The fight continues until we win! Revolution Time! Revolution Now!”

His comments come shortly after the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered his remand in Kuje Prison on Monday.
