The Coalition of Kwara APC Young Stakeholders (C-KAYS) has declared its unreserved support for the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general election, vowing to safeguard the governance gains achieved under the current administration.

The coalition made the declaration during a press conference in Ilorin, where youth and party stakeholders from across the state gathered to review the socio-economic milestones of the state government and chart a course for political continuity.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Coordinator of C-KAYS, Mallam Abiola Nasir, stated that the endorsement of Speaker Danladi is rooted in his proven competence, character, and deep grassroots connection, which qualify him to sustain the “Prosperity Agenda” championed by the Executive Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

According to him, the state had faced deep-seated structural challenges across critical sectors before 2019, including a demoralized civil service, decaying infrastructure, poorly funded schools, and under-equipped healthcare facilities. He noted that the purposeful leadership of Governor AbdulRazaq has successfully turned the tide through prudent resource management and inclusive governance.
“In the area of economic development, the administration has created opportunities for entrepreneurship, innovation, and youth empowerment. The Kwara Innovation Hub stands today as a landmark achievement, nurturing young talents, attracting global partnerships, and positioning Kwara as an emerging destination for technology and enterprise,” Nasir said.

The coordinator highlighted key interventions across basic education through Kwara SUBEB, the renovation of primary healthcare centers, extensive road connectivity across rural and urban communities, and the impactful implementation of the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) as templates that must be sustained by the next administration.

Addressing the security challenges facing the state, Nasir commended the state government’s proactive collaboration with federal security agencies, traditional rulers, and local hunters. He stated that increased patrols on major highways and vulnerable rural routes have yielded visible improvements in community safety, though noting that security remains an ongoing priority that requires continuous public support.
He also utilized the forum to appeal to all former governorship aspirants within the All Progressives Congress (APC) who participated in the party’s recent primary election to embrace internal reconciliation mechanisms and unite behind the party’s choice.

“The All Progressives Congress remains one united family. Differences should be resolved through dialogue and established party mechanisms rather than actions capable of weakening our collective strength. At this critical moment, unity remains our greatest asset,” he added.
Nasir further expressed the coalition’s gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to democracy through the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing that closer synergy between the federal government and subnationals will continue to accelerate development and security at the grassroots.

The coalition concluded by calling for greater inclusion of youths and women in public appointments and leadership roles, stressing that investing in these demographics is a strategic necessity for the long-term economic stability and political growth of Kwara State.
