The media office of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has described the recent Lokoja High Court ruling on the party’s registration status as a temporary setback and vowed to challenge the decision through legal means.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) and signed by its spokesperson, Idris Zekeri Jnr, the organisation said it had received numerous enquiries from journalists and concerned Nigerians following the judgment.
POMR urged Obi’s supporters, coalition partners, and the general public to remain calm while its legal team reviews the ruling and prepares an appeal.
The media office stated that it anticipated institutional challenges in its efforts to provide an alternative political platform and insisted that the court’s decision represented only a brief obstacle rather than a permanent setback.
According to the statement, the legal ruling would not alter its determination to pursue its political objectives and establish an alternative platform for Nigerians.
