Following the successful completion of candidate uploads to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal by the ruling party, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and founder of the ENACT Innovation Hub, Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, has made an appeal for structural reconciliation across the Kwara State APC family.
In a statement issued on Monday, titled “One Door Has Closed, Another Is About to Open: The Time for Dialogue, Reconciliation and a New Political Compact Is Now,”and made available to 9japarrot, Engr. Adeyemi officially declared himself a voluntary “Kwara APC Peace Ambassador” to help mend political rifts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The intervention follows the expiration of the midnight deadline on July 11, 2026, for the submission of Presidential and National Assembly candidates to the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP). APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, had earlier confirmed a successful 100% upload of the party’s standard-bearers.
Acknowledging the emotional and financial strain on aspirants who lost out during the high-stakes May 2026 primary elections particularly members of the aggrieved “G15” faction, Engr. Adeyemi noted that while political ambitions are entirely legitimate, the preservation of the party’s collective house must override personal interests.
“I will never criminalize or dismiss anyone’s legitimate aspiration for political inclusion. Every individual who has contested or supported a political cause has the right to expect fairness, recognition, and a place in the political conversation,” Adeyemi stated. “However, if someone occupies the chair we desired, we must not set the entire house on fire in frustration. The flames will not only consume the chair; they will consume the house and affect everyone within it.”
Addressing sitting National Assembly members who missed out on return tickets after serving multiple terms, the ENACT Principal reminded them that their legislative experience remains a valuable asset for future federal deployment, provided the party retains its unified voting strength to demand key federal appointments for the state.
The APC chieftain also handed down a realistic counsel to parallel governorship hopefuls within the state, urging a “strategic retreat” in light of current realities. He noted that the emergence of the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi, as the party’s official gubernatorial candidate remains a closed chapter that requires absolute compliance to secure victory.
Analyzing the 2027 electoral map, Adeyemi warned that emotional reactions or anti-party collaborations could jeopardize the progressive legacy. He emphasized that winning back Kwara South without the institutional network of the Executive Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, would be an uphill task, while Kwara Central is already shaping up to be a highly competitive battleground.
Concluding his treatise, the self-appointed Peace Ambassador urged the G15 leaders and all dissatisfied stalwarts to abandon hostile media campaigns and report immediately to the negotiation table, advising them to utilize the Colonel AbdulWahab Ademola Lawal-led State Reconciliation Committee to fight for their stakeholders’ interests in upcoming appointments and strategic party roles.
