Hundreds Benefit as Reps Candidate, Olododo Sponsors Free Medical Outreach in Ilorin East, South

Hundreds of residents across the Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency in Kwara State have benefited from a comprehensive community medical outreach organized by the Ilorin College of Health Technology, in affiliation with the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa.

The free healthcare intervention sponsored by the All Progressives Congress House of Representatives candidate for the constituency, Engr. AbdulQuawiy Olododo held at the Kankatu Market and Balogun Fulani in Ilorin, providing grassroots residents with vital medical checks, clinical diagnostic screenings, consultations, and free medications aimed at bringing basic healthcare services directly to high-traffic community spaces.

Speaking with journalists during the medical outreach, the Administrative Officer of the Ilorin College of Health Technology, Mr. Hadi Mubarak, disclosed that the outreach formed part of activities marking the institution’s maiden Health Week programme.

Mubarak explained that the initiative featured various community development and health awareness activities designed in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those relating to good health and well-being.

He commended Engr. Olododo for sponsoring a significant portion of the programme, describing his financial and logistical support as instrumental to the execution and overall success of the outreach.

During the exercise, the medical team conducted extensive diagnostic screenings, including random blood sugar tests for diabetes detection, malaria rapid diagnostic tests, HIV screening, and blood pressure monitoring for hypertension.

The team also carried out clinical evaluations and offered medical management for acute respiratory infections, persistent cough, peptic ulcer disease, and general physical health checks, while dispensing free prescription drugs alongside personalized medical counseling based on diagnostic outcomes.

Speaking on behalf of local beneficiaries, the Alangua of Ibagun Ward praised the APC candidate for prioritizing public health at the grassroots level, noting that bringing healthcare directly to markets and community centers relieves financial burdens and saves lives.

The organizers noted that the intervention forms part of a broader constituency welfare strategy aimed at expanding medical access and promoting health awareness across Ilorin East and Ilorin South local government areas.
