Former Kwara State Commissioner for Finance and Planning and APC House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, Hon. Olasumbo Florence Oyeyemi has commended Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his commitment to youth inclusion and gender equality in public governance.
Oyeyemi made the remarks during an appearance on _Kwara Politics Today_ on KwaraTV.
She described her appointment in 2019 as a defining moment in her career, noting that the Governor recognized leadership potential in her when few believed a young woman could handle such significant responsibilities.
Reflecting on her tenure, Oyeyemi said representing both youth and women came with the expectation to perform exceptionally so as not to close doors for future generations.
She expressed satisfaction that women continue to head strategic ministries in Kwara State, including the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Budget and Planning, alongside numerous young people occupying key cabinet roles.
Speaking on her current parliamentary ambition, Oyeyemi said securing the APC ticket for the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency marks another milestone.
According to her, it presents a historic opportunity for the Ekiti axis of the constituency to be represented at the House of Representatives while adding a female voice to the state’s National Assembly delegation.
