AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Students’ Support Group Relaunches Movement, Backs AbdulRazaq’s Senatorial Ambition

The AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Students’ Support Group (AASSG) has officially relaunched its activities, reaffirming support for Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his senatorial ambition.

The group made its position known during a press conference marking the official relaunch of the organisation, where its Coordinator, Comrade Daud Jimoh, said the movement was established to mobilise students and young people in support of the governor’s leadership and development agenda.

According to Jimoh, AASSG is a voluntary political movement comprising students who identify with Governor AbdulRazaq’s commitment to youth and student development.

He said the governor’s administration had given considerable attention to education and youth development through interventions aimed at improving opportunities for young people across Kwara State.

The group also highlighted government initiatives in entrepreneurship, skills development and youth empowerment, noting that young people require practical skills, access to funding and opportunities to establish businesses and participate meaningfully in the economy.

AASSG said its engagement with students, particularly those from Kwara Central studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria, had shown significant willingness among students to identify with and support AbdulRazaq’s political aspirations.

The group said beneficiaries of empowerment initiatives, capacity-building programmes and entrepreneurship opportunities had expressed appreciation for the interventions, while students who benefited from annual scholarship and bursary programmes also acknowledged the support received from the administration.

Jimoh explained that the decision to relaunch the movement was also aimed at providing an organised platform for students to express their political support for the governor while encouraging responsible participation in democratic processes.

He added that students and young people remained an important segment of the population whose voices and participation could influence governance and the future of society.

The group said it would continue to engage the student community through constructive conversations, mobilisation and awareness activities, particularly among students from Kwara Central.

AASSG further pledged to promote peaceful and responsible political participation among its members and supporters while communicating its perspective on Governor AbdulRazaq’s political journey and his relationship with young people.

The organisation also called on its members to conduct themselves with discipline, respect, peace and maturity, urging them to highlight the administration’s achievements not only in education and student welfare but across other sectors.

The group described the media as an important partner in informing the public and communicating issues affecting young people, education and governance.

AASSG concluded by reaffirming its commitment to greater engagement, stronger mobilisation and constructive participation as it continues its campaign in support of AbdulRazaq’s political future.
