Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of manipulating the United States into war with Iran.
In a post on X on Monday, Araghchi described Netanyahu as a “serpent”, alleging that the Israeli leader openly boasted about influencing the US administration through extensive media appearances.
The comments come amid renewed tensions between Iran, Israel and the United States, following months of conflict and an April ceasefire.
The ceasefire ended the most intense fighting, but sporadic attacks, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, have continued to threaten prospects for a lasting peace agreement.
The United States also carried out a strike on Iran’s Larak Island on Sunday, its first such attack in a month, while Iran said it retaliated by targeting US military bases in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.
The latest escalation follows Netanyahu’s recent rejection of prospects for a US-Iran agreement, as tensions between the countries remain high.
