Bandits reportedly raided Abudu community, Oke-oyi, Ilorin East Local Government Area in Kwara state at about 11 pm on Tuesday ,28 of July 2026.
The bandits allegedly moved from house to house, robbing residents, assaulting and kidnapping the residents and they reportedly took of with the kidnapped victims towards the surrounding forest.
According to a report on punch, an elderly survivor reported that Aminat Salihu, Jamie Salihu and three others were allegedly kidnapped by the bandits. Meanwhile the local government chairman identified only three victims which included Wasiu,Jamiu and a pregnant woman named Amidah was allegedly taken by the bandits.
Furthermore, the chairman of Ilorin East Local Government Area,Lukman Olayinka visited Abudu community on July 29, 2026 alongside Nigerian police officers, Department of State Services (DSS) and Kwara State Forest Guards. The Chairman assured that security agencies has increased efforts to rescue the kidnapped victims and arrest the suspected bandits. The local Vigilantes was also reported to have joined the search for the kidnapped victims and suspected kidnappers.
