Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, has said his representation goes beyond physical infrastructure, with human capital development receiving significant attention.
Kalu disclosed that more than 40 young people from Abia North had undergone overseas training in various emerging fields, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics and Cybersecurity.
The former Abia State governor also said dozens of other constituents were studying abroad on scholarships in different fields, including PhD, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Medicine and Surgery, among others.
Kalu made the disclosure in a recent post, stressing that investing in the knowledge and skills of young people remained a major part of his commitment to the senatorial district.
He said the overseas training programmes were designed to provide beneficiaries with relevant skills and global exposure that could position them for opportunities in the rapidly changing global economy.
“My commitment to Abia North is not only about physical infrastructure. Human capital development remains a major part of our representation,” Kalu stated.
According to him, the investment in education and skills development reflects his belief that empowering people is one of the most sustainable ways of developing the constituency.
“We are investing in knowledge, skills and global exposure because the greatest investment we can make is in our people,” he said.
Kalu further maintained that the future development of Abia North depended largely on the quality and capacity of its people, particularly its younger generation.
“The future of Abia North is our people,” he added.
