Farmer Arrested For Allegedly Raping A Minor

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 42-year-old farmer, Ganiu Agbajo, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.

The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the State Commander of the Corps, Commander Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

According to the statement, the Corps received a distress report from members of the community on September 7, 2026, after the girl was seen crying while returning home.

The victim’s mother reportedly questioned her about what had happened, and the girl, whose name was withheld, allegedly told her that she had been raped by a man. The mother then raised the alarm, prompting residents to alert So-Safe Corps operatives.

Following the report, operatives arrested Agbajo at his residence in Hassan Compound, Igbokulu, Ita-Egbe, Ipokia.

The suspect reportedly confessed during preliminary interrogation, stating that the alleged act took place on his farmland at Ojugo, Ita-Egbe.

Ganzallo commended the residents for their prompt response and urged members of the public to continue reporting suspicious and unlawful activities to the appropriate authorities.

The suspect has since been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution.
