An old video of Nigerian content creator Peller calling on fans to report fellow creator Carter Efe’s TikTok account has resurfaced online, days after the platform permanently removed Carter Efe’s main account for the second time.
The video began trending on September 9, with social media users drawing a connection between Peller’s past appeal and the recent removal of Carter Efe’s account.
Carter Efe, a popular streamer, comedian and musician, reportedly lost access to his official TikTok account with more than 5.6 million followers and 158 million likes.
An enforcement notice circulated online indicated that the account was permanently banned following repeated violations of TikTok’s Community Guidelines.
In the resurfaced clip, Peller is seen on his knees appealing to his followers to report Carter Efe’s page. He accused the creator of sabotaging other content creators and suggested that reporting the account could lead to its removal.
The timing of the resurfaced footage has, however, triggered speculation among social media users, although there is no confirmed evidence that Peller’s appeal contributed to TikTok’s decision.
TikTok’s reported enforcement notice specifically attributed the ban to repeated violations of its Community Guidelines.
The latest development is not Carter Efe’s first major setback on the platform.
In June 2025, TikTok removed his previous account, which had amassed about 3.5 million followers, following controversy over comments he made about Afrobeats star Wizkid during a livestream.
Carter Efe subsequently rebuilt his TikTok audience, growing the replacement account to more than 5.6 million followers before it was banned again.
The resurfaced Peller video has now reignited conversations about the rivalry and competition among Nigerian digital creators, particularly over the influence of mass reporting and platform moderation.
It has also renewed concerns about creators building large audiences on social media platforms where accounts can be restricted or removed for violating community guidelines.
While the viral clip has fuelled speculation about the circumstances surrounding Carter Efe’s latest ban, TikTok’s stated reason remains repeated violations of its policies, leaving the alleged link between Peller’s appeal and the suspension unconfirmed.
