Prominent Islamic scholar and Mufasir Agba of Ilorin, Sheikh Uthman Al-Adaby (Sannu Shehu) has charged the Kwara State Governor and newly turbaned Sardaunan Ilorin, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to remain anchored on humility, sustain his track record of developmental achievements, and avoid governing with emotions.
The Islamic cleric gave the charge while delivering a special sermon at a civic reception organized in honour of the Governor following his official turbaning as the Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate.
The reception, held at the historic AGF AbdulRazaq (SAN) Compound in Surulere, Ilorin on Thursday was organized under the coordinatorship of the General Manager of the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), Dr. Abdulwasiu Olayinka Tejidini.
In his admonition, Sheikh Sannu Shehu highlighted the essential qualities of a just leader, emphasizing that governance requires patience, fairness, and emotional composure.
He urged Governor AbdulRazaq to maintain his well-known humility and build upon the unprecedented legacies his administration has established across the state.
Addressing the political dynamics of leadership, the cleric highlighted the spiritual and moral imperative of rewarding loyalty.
“Showing genuine appreciation to individuals who stood firm and supported you during difficult and uncertain periods is a vital trait of principled leadership” the scholar added.
Sheikh Sannu Shehu further counseled the Governor to continue acting as a unifying father figure to all residents of Kwara State, regardless of political or social affiliations in order to foster peace, harmony, and collective progress.
The colorful event brought together distinguished dignitaries, Islamic scholars, traditional titleholders, and political leaders.
Among the prominent figures in attendance were the Governor’s elder brother and Mutawalli of Ilorin Emirate, Dr. Muhammed Alimi AbdulRazaq; GM KWASSIP, Dr. Abdulwasiu Olayinka Tejidini; and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Religion (Islam), Alhaji Ibrahim Kale Danmaigoro, among others.
