Former Member of the House of Representatives representing Irepodun, Isin, Ekiti and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency and APC Kwara South Senatorial Aspirant, Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola Peter, has congratulated the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, on his turbaning as the Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, at the Emir’s Palace, Ilorin, Kwara State, on Wednesday, 16 September 2026.
Makanjuola described the honour as a fitting recognition of the Governor’s contributions to the development of Kwara State and his efforts towards promoting peace, unity and progress across the state.
He noted that the Sardauna title carries significant responsibility and presents another opportunity for Governor AbdulRazaq to continue serving the people while upholding the values, traditions and heritage of the Ilorin Emirate.
According to him, the Governor’s years in office have demonstrated that leadership is about touching lives, creating opportunities and working for the common good.
Makanjuola also congratulated the Emir of Ilorin and the entire Ilorin Emirate on the historic occasion, describing the traditional institution as a pillar of unity and an important custodian of the identity, culture and heritage of Kwara State.
He expressed confidence that Governor AbdulRazaq would wear the Sardauna title with the same sense of responsibility and commitment that he has brought to his service as Governor of Kwara State.
