Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Principal of the ENACT movement, Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun has declared that all positive indicators on the ground point to a decisive victory for the ruling party in Kwara State come 2027.
Speaking during a media chat with online news publishers in Ilorin on Wednesday, the renowned global engineer stated that the record of performance of the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration, combined with the party’s equitable distribution of candidate tickets places the APC far ahead of opposition platforms.
Adeyemi noted that the administration’s people-centered projects and widespread infrastructure development speak directly to the voters, establishing a firm foundation for electoral success.
“Our party has done well in ensuring equity and spread in the selection of all its 2027 candidates for the general election,” Adeyemi said.
“The leadership displayed by the Governor through the party structure under the Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi shows that the APC understands the mood and yearning of Kwarans.” He added.
Speaking on the opposition moves, Adeyemi dismissed the political alignment known as the “Rainbow Coalition,” as merely a vehicle to seize power while expressing individual grievances following primary election outcomes rather than genuine concern for the public. In every contest, there will be winners and losers. He added that it is best to use internal party mechanisms to x-ray issues and find collaborative and collective solutions.
He maintained that the G-15 in Kwara which later metamorphosis to the rainbow coalition bears no ideological resemblance to the historic Otoge movement of 2019.
“Otoge belongs to the masses and not the elites, and by the grace of God the administration of HE Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON has prioritized masses oriented solutions from introducing meritocracy hiring, clearing of inherited salaries and pensions, while paying down inherited gratuities significantly owed from 2008 to fully cleared up to 2016 or so while paying partial for some of the subsequent years” He said.
Adding that additional resources will still be devoted to clearing additional backlogs of gratuities.
“Though people contested and lost, and it is expected that there would be grievances, these issues are better managed within the party structure rather than attempting to bring the party down,” he added, noting that internal reconciliation efforts are actively underway.
Demonstrating party loyalty, Adeyemi who contested for the APC Kwara South Senatorial ticket affirmed his full backing for all official candidates of the party in the upcoming elections, including the candidacy of his major contender, Prince Lekan Adewoye who clinched the Kwara South Senatorial ticket.
He seized the platform to urge party stakeholders and media partners to continuously highlight the state government’s achievements to consolidate support ahead of the polls.
