Kastina: Military Rescues Five Abducted Women

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued five abducted women, including a mother and her infant, during a military operation in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

A military source said the troops received intelligence about the movement of terrorists around the Madaci Forest and quickly mobilised to intercept them using tactical manoeuvres.

The source explained that the operation threw the terrorists into confusion, allowing the troops to safely rescue the victims.

Those rescued included a mother and her infant, alongside three other minors and young adults. The victims were said to be from Danja and Funtua Local Government Areas.

The rescued persons were later handed over to the Chairman of Bakori Local Government Area, Abubakar Musa, for reunification with their families.

Meanwhile, the troops have continued aggressive patrols in the area as part of efforts to dominate the forest and prevent terrorists and other criminal elements from operating freely.
