Veteran actress Sola Sobowale has honoured the late legendary actor, Olu Jacobs, describing him as the man who played a major role in shaping her acting career.
Sobowale spoke at the tribute service held for the late actor on Wednesday, where she recalled the impact Jacobs had on her development as an actress.
She said while many people praise her acting abilities, few know that her skills were shaped by the late veteran.
“When people see Sola Sobowale, they say she is a fantastic actor, but somebody trained me. Baba Olu Jacobs was that person who trained me. He was a man of knowledge, wisdom and a selfless man,” she said.
Olu Jacobs, who was 84, died on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, after reportedly battling ill health for some time.
His family announced his death in a statement, describing him as “The Lion of Lufodo.”
