Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has revealed that he has been praying for God to take him when his time comes rather than allow him to become a burden to his family.
Edochie made the disclosure while speaking about his health during a visit to his ailing colleague, actor Emmanuel, in Accra, Ghana, as part of his legacy tour on Wednesday.
The veteran actor opened up about his own health challenges while consoling Emmanuel, revealing that walking has become difficult for him. He also said he sometimes wakes up to find parts of his body swollen.
Edochie, however, said he remains hopeful of recovering, while asking God to take him peacefully whenever his time comes.
“I just keep asking God, you are the author of life. Whenever you feel it’s time for me to go, just take me. Don’t let me bother the people who are around me. No, just take me,” he said.
The actor stressed that he does not want his health condition to put his family or those around him under unnecessary pressure.
