Two Arrested Over Stolen Car, One For Cable Vandalism In Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has arrested three suspects in separate incidents involving alleged car theft and vandalism.

Two of the suspects, identified as 61-year-old Abdullahi Sani and 63-year-old Abdullahi Suleiman, were arrested during a routine patrol along the Eastern Bypass in Kano.

The suspects were intercepted at Ladanai Junction at about 2am while allegedly driving a red Toyota Carina II Wagon with registration number LFA 417 AA, registered in Nasarawa State.

According to the NSCDC, the vehicle had been reported stolen three days earlier before the suspects were apprehended while attempting to drive out of the Ladanai area.

The command said Sani resides in Kurna Tudun Bojuwa, while Suleiman is a resident of Kantudu in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State.

In a separate operation, NSCDC operatives arrested 45-year-old Suleiman Shehu for allegedly vandalising an armoured cable belonging to Triumph Nigeria Limited in Bompai, Nassarawa Local Government Area.

Shehu, who is an employee of the company, was reportedly arrested while allegedly vandalising the cable.

The three suspects are currently in NSCDC custody and are undergoing preliminary investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the incidents and their alleged involvement.

The command said the suspects would be prosecuted upon the completion of investigations.

The NSCDC Kano State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama II, commended the operatives for their prompt response and vigilance.

He said the arrests demonstrated the importance of routine patrols and intelligence-driven operations in preventing and tackling criminal activities across the state.

Agalama assured residents that the command would continue to strengthen its operations in collaboration with other security agencies and members of the public to protect lives and property.

He also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with credible information about suspicious activities.
