The Anambra State Government has urged supporters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to reject former governor of the state, Peter Obi, in the 2027 general election.
The government made the call in a post on its official X account, managed by the New Media Office of Governor Charles Soludo, on Monday.
It accused Obi of working against APGA since leaving office, while claiming that President Bola Tinubu had supported the party.
In a graphic targeting Obi, the state government described him as a “betrayal” to APGA and called on party supporters to resist his candidacy ahead of the 2027 election.
“A betrayal alert for Ndi APGA. Since 2014, Obi has had one mission: to destroy the party that made him,” the government stated.
It further alleged that in 2015, while Tinubu supported APGA, Obi backed the opposition against the party.
The government added, “Do not be deceived by a man who abandoned his own house. Anambra is APGA. Ndi APGA, defend your home, resist the NDC.”
Obi, who served as Anambra State governor from 2006 to 2013, is seeking the presidency in 2027 on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.
