The Play With Kwara Youths (PWKY) initiative, registered as the Sports for Kwara Youths Initiative has opened its official registration portal for its sixth edition (PWKY 6.0), with the registration window scheduled to run from Thursday, October 8 to Sunday, October 11, 2026.
PWKY provides an inclusive platform for young Kwarans across political, religious, and ethnic divides to foster unity, peaceful coexistence, and social cohesion through sports and recreational activities.
According to the organizers in a statement obtained by 9japarrot on Thursday, the 6.0 edition features an expanded lineup of competitive games, including Football, Scrabble, Table Tennis, Draught, Ludo (reserved exclusively for female participants), and “Brain Battle”—a multi-tier segment featuring mental agility, creative tasks, and recreational challenges like bottle flipping.
The organizers noted that participation and initial portal registration remain free, emphasizing that no prospective participant is required to pay for official jerseys during the registration stage.
Jersey payments apply solely after formal selection for specific sports and include a ticket to the grand PWKY Dinner Event. Participants selected for Brain Battle are exempt from jersey purchases.
Intending participants are advised to complete their entries accurately via the official portal before the midnight deadline on Sunday, October 11, 2026, as the four-day registration window will not be extended.
The organization reaffirmed its commitment to using youth recreation as a tool for bridge-building and community development across Kwara State.
