ADC Guber Candidate, Zakari Mohammed Outlines Priorities for Kwara, Challenges Opponents to Debate

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kwara State, Rt. Hon. Zakari Mohammed, has outlined intelligence-driven security, agricultural development, affordable food, job creation, and educational reform as the core pillars of his administration if elected governor in 2027.

Speaking during a media parley at his campaign office along Asa Dam Road in Ilorin, the former House of Representatives member urged the electorate to reject both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that both parties have failed to deliver effective leadership to the state.

“No meaningful development takes place without security,” Mohammed said.

He explained that his security strategy would prioritize community-based intelligence gathering through an active “if you see something, say something” framework, alongside technology deployment and enhanced support for conventional security agencies.

Highlighting agriculture as Kwara’s primary economic catalyst, the ADC candidate emphasized that boosting local agro-processing and providing farming subsidies are essential to reducing food prices, creating sustainable jobs for youths, and curbing insecurity.

Mohammed challenged all governorship candidates to a public debate, asserting that voters deserve an open platform to evaluate the experience, policy proposals, and competence of every contender.

Addressing his public service track record, the former lawmaker affirmed that he discharged his duties with integrity during previous appointments and has never been invited or investigated by anti-corruption agencies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

He assured that an ADC administration would uphold the continuity of public interest projects, ensure executive-legislative independence, and manage state resources judiciously for the benefit of all Kwarans.
