‘Tinubu Has Taken Nigerians For a Joke’, Says ADC-PCC

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) has alleged that President Bola Tinubu has taken Nigerians for a joke, insisting that he should not seek re-election if he is afraid to face voters across the country.

ADC-PCC Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, made the allegation while receiving a delegation of youths under the aegis of Young Voters for Atiku.

“What President Tinubu has done is a clear act of contempt against the Nigerian people,” Ologbondiyan said, arguing that a President seeking re-election should visit voters and account for his record in office.

He rejected the suggestion that official duties could prevent Tinubu from campaigning nationwide, pointing to former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, who sought re-election while in office.

“ President Tinubu has taken Nigerians for a joke and should not seek re-election. A President who is afraid to face his own people has no business asking for their votes,” he said.

Ologbondiyan also criticized the Tinubu administration for what he described as widespread anger over hunger, poverty, insecurity and economic hardship.

“He knows Nigerians are hungry and angry. He knows that the average Nigerian finds it difficult to eat and to be secure,” he added.

The ADC-PCC called on young Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027, saying another term for the ruling party would prolong the country’s challenges.

Ologbondiyan said ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar was prepared to campaign across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

He promised that an Atiku-led government would focus on economic recovery, wealth creation, national security and improved living standards.

“Atiku Abubakar will bring back subsidy to reduce cost of petroleum products, create wealth, end hunger in our land, secure our nation and restore our battered economy,” he said.
