APC Women’s Directorate Flags Off Grassroots Hospital Outreach in Kaduna

The Directorate of Women Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has extended its grassroots engagement and humanitarian activities to major health facilities across Kaduna State, delivering direct medical support and empowerment to vulnerable groups ahead of campaign flag-offs.

The outreach, executed under the directive of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was led by former Minister Dr. Betta Edu alongside prominent national and state political leaders, including Senator Binta Masi Garba, Senator Abiodun Olujimi, Hon. Elizabeth Ogenyi, Hon. Ada Ode, Hon. Gloria Akobundu, and the Majority Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Munirat Suleiman Tanimu.

Benefiting facilities included Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital and Yusuf Dansoho Memorial Hospital, where the delegation interacted with patients, healthcare administrators, and mothers while distributing essential support materials and financial aid.

Speaking during the hospital visits, Dr. Betta Edu highlighted key structural reforms implemented under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration aimed at expanding equitable healthcare access, maternal care, and social safety nets for Nigerian families.

“Our President has prioritized healthcare reforms that provide affordable and accessible care for all citizens,” Dr. Edu stated.

“Through national health interventions, pregnant women are receiving free maternal care in selected hospitals across the country—covering delivery costs, Caesarean sections, and essential medications—alongside targeted subsidies for renal dialysis and specialized cancer treatment.” She added.

Dr. Edu praised First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), particularly its programs dedicated to midwife training, clinical equipping, and maternal mortality reduction across northern Nigeria.

Responding to the intervention, beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the campaign council and the presidency, pointing to social programs such as free maternal healthcare and student loan access through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as crucial interventions easing family financial burdens.

The organizers reaffirmed that the compassionate health outreach forms part of a broader grassroots mobilization strategy that combines policy awareness with direct humanitarian action to ensure women, children, and vulnerable citizens remain central to national development priorities.
