The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has accused the administration of President Bola Tinubu of frustrating his political activities through what he described as relentless court proceedings.
Sowore made the allegation shortly after his trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, where he described the frequent court appearances as a deliberate attempt to prevent him from campaigning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The activist alleged that the day-to-day court proceedings were designed to distract him, frustrate his political activities and prevent him from speaking out against the government.
According to him, the repeated trials were part of an alleged effort to limit his political engagement and prevent him from reaching Nigerians with his message.
Sowore, however, insisted that no amount of intimidation or persecution would stop him from continuing his political activities and advocating for Nigerians.
“They don’t want me to campaign, hence these relentless, day-to-day court proceedings which are deliberately designed to distract and frustrate me. But they will fail, as usual. No amount of intimidation or persecution will stop me,” Sowore said.
The AAC presidential candidate maintained that he would not abandon his political struggle despite the legal challenges he said he was facing.
His comments come amid political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with politicians and political parties preparing to seek the support of Nigerians.
