Industrializing Kwara South Will Be My Priority — Hon. Saheed Popoola

Former member of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Kwara South Senatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Saheed Popoola, has said that industrializing Kwara South will be a top priority in his legislative agenda.

Hon. Popoola stated this while addressing party supporters and decampees who joined the PDP in Kwara South, noting that the senatorial district is blessed with enormous human and natural resources that must be harnessed for economic growth.

According to him, the district comprising Offa, Oyun, Ifelodun, Irepodun, Isin, Oke-Ero and Ekiti Local Government Areas, has what it takes to become an industrial hub if given purposeful and experienced representation.

“Industrializing Kwara South will be a priority,” he said. “We have the people, we have the land, and we have the entrepreneurial spirit. What we need is to attract investments, create industrial clusters, support our local manufacturers and turn our farm produce into finished goods. That is how we create jobs for our youth.”

The former lawmaker, who represented Ojomu/Balogun Constituency in Offa, explained that his focus would be on agro-processing, support for local artisans and weavers, access to credit for small businesses and vocational training to equip young people with relevant skills.

He urged the new decampees and party faithful to remain united and committed to the PDP, adding that the party remains the best platform to deliver real development to Kwara South and Kwara State at large.

The meeting ended with renewed enthusiasm among party supporters, who commended Hon. Popoola for his consistent engagement and clear vision for the district.
