LAUTECH Academic Staff Begin Indefinite Strike

Academic staff at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, have commenced an indefinite strike over the non-implementation of the 2025 agreement between the Federal Government and the union, as well as the non-payment of outstanding entitlements.

The strike, which is scheduled to begin at midnight on Thursday, was announced in a statement signed by the union’s Chairman, Professor Olujimi Dada, and Secretary, Dr Soji Arinola.

The union said the decision was reached following an emergency congress held on Wednesday.

It subsequently directed all its members to suspend academic activities across the institution.

“The suspension covers lectures, examinations, statutory meetings, laboratory work, teaching and other interactions with students,” the statement said.
