Manchester United manager, Michael Carrick, has confirmed that Bruno Fernandes will remain the club’s captain following reports of tension between both men.
Carrick had left the Portuguese midfielder on the substitutes’ bench during United’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday.
The decision came days after Fernandes reportedly criticised his manager’s tactics following the Champions League defeat to Como last week.
However, both men have held clear-the-air talks this week ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League trip to Chelsea on Saturday.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Carrick publicly confirmed that Fernandes would retain the captain’s armband, praising his commitment to the club and the team.
The 45-year-old told reporters: “Bruno is fully committed to this football club.
“I’ve got no issues with that, we move forward.
