Two people have been killed in separate road accidents recorded at different locations in Aba, Abia State, on Friday and Sunday.
The first crash occurred around the Osisioma Flyover junction when a truck rammed into a shop, killing a man instantly and leaving about six other people injured.
An eyewitness said the truck, which was conveying goods, was moving at high speed before the driver lost control and crashed into the busy area, hitting traders and pedestrians.
The injured victims were subsequently taken to a hospital for emergency treatment.
Although the exact cause of the accident was yet to be determined, it was unclear whether it resulted from reckless driving or a possible brake failure.
The Abia State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, CC Ngozi Ezeoma, confirmed the incident, saying the deceased was an adult male.
In a separate incident on Sunday morning, another man whose identity had not been established was killed along Port Harcourt Road in Aba.
The victim was reportedly on his way to church when a speeding motorcycle struck him from behind, leading to his death.
